As 2016 comes to an end, it’s time once again for us to roll out the red carpet and don our formal wear as we proudly present the 3rd annual Chatties, our special awards given to the best and worst moments throughout the year within The Walt Disney Company. After a year filled with new experiences, devastating losses, and big shakeups, what will win awards such as Best Addition at WDW, Biggest Surprise, and Worst Change at WDW? Find out on our special end-of-year episode. That’s our challenge this week as we each “draft” ten picks and create our teams of attractions, hoping to have the highest combined wait time based on actual numbers this past Saturday, November 26. 98: Opening Day Attractions – How Untouchable?

Now that Maelstrom has been gone for over a year, Tower of Terror is down to its final few months at Disney California Adventure, and rumors are swirling that Great Movie Ride will be no more by 2018, the question becomes: Is anything safe?

On this week’s show, we list the 16 opening day attractions that are still part of Magic Kingdom, and we rank them on a scale of 1-5 based on how crucial they are to Walt Disney World at large. Which ones are expendable, and which ones, if removed, would completely change the tone of Magic Kingdom?

93: Overlay or Over-nay? – Evaluating Disney’s Shoehorning Strategy

What used to be Maelstrom is now Frozen Ever After. The original show Rivers of Light has been put on hold, and a “Jungle Book” show has debuted in its place. Now, rumors are flying that attractions like Mission: SPACE and Tower of Terror will be given “Guardians of the Galaxy” overlays. Is the age of original attractions over?

On this week’s show, we dive in to the topic of Disney overlays and share our thoughts on this latest trend. Then, with our tongues firmly in our cheeks, we each give five ideas for how to either improve or ruin current Walt Disney World attractions by overlaying them with Disney films and characters.

In the segment “Munchies and Merch,” we discuss the food items and merchandise at the parks that have our attention. Plus, we play “Take 5,” a game in which we use just five words to express our feelings on categories such as the weather in July and what the Maelstrom trolls are up to now. Because we hear that question all the time, we thought we’d pit the two resorts against each other on this week’s show.
