Join us for a musical tour of Epcot! On this week’s show we take a virtual walk-through of Future World and World Showcase, stopping along the way to discuss the background music and original songs you’ll hear in each area. From the classically Epcot loops at The Land Pavilion and Innoventions to the soaring patriotic anthems “Golden Dream” and “Canada (You’re a Lifetime Journey),” we highlight the sounds that make Epcot the park it is.

Continuing our series on table service restaurants throughout Walt Disney World, this week our culinary tour takes us to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where we read the menus and give our reviews of eateries such as Yak & Yeti, Tiffins, 50’s Prime Time Cafe, and more.

Over in Epcot, Broadway star Kerry Butler is currently performing at the inaugural Festival of the Arts, and on this week’s show she joins us to talk about the festival, her past Broadway roles – including Belle (Beauty and the Beast) and Audrey (Little Shop of Horrors) – and her love of all things Disney.

107: From Celebrations to Cyclones (And Hocus Pocus Too!)

Walt Disney World had quite a week! Just days after celebrating its 45th anniversary, the resort closed to guests for only the fourth time ever due to Hurricane Matthew. And the Mad Chatters were on the scene for all of it!

To help us report on all of the craziness, we brought in a few special guests. First, our friends David and Katie fill us in on what it was like to be trapped at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel as Hurricane Matthew made its way along the coast. They give us the scoop on how Disney handled the situation as well as share the highs and lows of being in Walt Disney World while the parks were closed.

Then, guest Aaron Wallace (@aaronspod), host of Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Pod and author of the brand new book Hocus Pocus in Focus, joins Derek to break down all of the celebrations and offerings that took place on Magic Kingdom’s 45th birthday. They also report on the new show “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History.”
