71: Countdown to Parkstinction – Disney(‘s) California Adventure: 2001

This week we once again hop in our Time Rovers and take a trip back to the past. This time our destination is 2001, when Disney California Adventure first opened to the public. Joining us for our virtual tour of one of Disney’s most scrutinized parks is Guy Selga (@GuySelga) of Touring Plans. Together we walk the streets of DCA 1.0 and discuss extinct attractions and locations like the Sun Icon, Disney’s Eureka! A California Parade, and the infamous Superstar Limo.

Hot topics on this week’s show include one family’s suit against Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s nine Oscar nominations, and a Guardian article about the “problem” with Disney princesses. Plus, we share our ideas for the hashtag #EdibleDisneySongs. Come join the puns… Or rather, come join the fun on another episode of The Mad Chatters Podcast!

55: Walt Disney World Vs. Disneyland: Ranking the Disney Parks Using Our Completely Subjective and Meaningless Point System

Which is better: Disneyland or Walt Disney World?

Because we hear that question all the time, we thought we’d pit the two resorts against each other on this week’s show. Comparing everything from attractions, to hotels, to weather, to elbow room, we award points to both parks depending on how they stack up in various categories. While at the end of the day we couldn’t possibly choose a park to call our “favorite,” we always enjoy talking about the pros and cons of both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

Also on this week’s show, we discuss the recently announced Club Disney, a new Mary Poppins film, Disney comic books, attraction posters, and more!

36: Top 5 Attractions in Need of Refurbishment

Refurbishment, change, an overhaul, TLC… Whatever you want to call it, some attractions need a bit of love. This week we count down the five attractions at Walt Disney World that need the most attention. We don’t want to see them go; we just want them to reach their potential.

On the subject of refurbishments, we discuss the recent changes that were made to The Great Movie Ride, including a new pre-show and a new finale montage. Also in the news, we talk about Orange Bird’s triumphant return and whether or not Tomorrowland‘s box office is to blame for Tron 3‘s demise.

In “Eating Around the World” we review Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. Plus, we share our latest Disney obsessions in “The Disney Fix.” Come join the conversation!
