182: Disney Q&A: Our Favorite Disney Movies, Mementos, and Memories

This week we get back to Disney basics — and get a bit sappy in the process. Join us as we open up about the Disney movies we watched the most as children, the movie moments that made us cry, the Disney souvenirs we treasure the most, our favorite Disney memories, and more!

In the segment “This Week in Disney History,” we look back at events such as the 50th Academy Awards and the restoration of the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City. Plus, we respond to a few listener emails regarding Walt Disney World honeymoons, the resorts we would choose to stay at, and more.

127: 60 Must-Eat Foods at WDW (According to Travel + Leisure)

Travel + Leisure recently posted an article called “60 Foods Everyone Should Try At Least Once When Visiting [Walt] Disney World.” On this week’s show, we break down the 60 food items chosen by the author and discuss what makes Disney food so iconic and blog-worthy.

Keeping with the food theme, we kick off the month of March with our very own Munch Madness tournament, an epic battle of the best restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort. In Round 1, we narrow down the playing field to 32 restaurants. Then, we open up the voting to you, the listener, as we ask you to visit our Munch Madness page and place your votes for your favorite dining experiences in Walt Disney World. Each week we’ll eliminate half of the remaining restaurants until only one winner remains.

In The Disney Fix, we discuss Newsies on the big screen, Disney’s big night at the Oscars, and huge changes coming to Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach resorts. All that and more awaits you on this week’s episode!

71: Countdown to Parkstinction – Disney(‘s) California Adventure: 2001

This week we once again hop in our Time Rovers and take a trip back to the past. This time our destination is 2001, when Disney California Adventure first opened to the public. Joining us for our virtual tour of one of Disney’s most scrutinized parks is Guy Selga (@GuySelga) of Touring Plans. Together we walk the streets of DCA 1.0 and discuss extinct attractions and locations like the Sun Icon, Disney’s Eureka! A California Parade, and the infamous Superstar Limo.

Hot topics on this week’s show include one family’s suit against Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s nine Oscar nominations, and a Guardian article about the “problem” with Disney princesses. Plus, we share our ideas for the hashtag #EdibleDisneySongs. Come join the puns… Or rather, come join the fun on another episode of The Mad Chatters Podcast!
