This week we’re bringing you another Mad Q Party, featuring ten new off-the-wall questions related to the Disney parks, the Disney films, and the rest of the Disney universe. In a round of The Disney Fix, we chat about pets at WDW, Mickey Mouse shorts, and Disney’s ownership of ESPN. Plus, we’re joined by special guests Chris and Sarah, who go up against two Chatters in the game “What’s My Line,” in which the players must complete quotes from Disney attractions. 146: Magic Kingdom and Disneyland – What’s the Difference?

Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, It’s A Small World – Many of the classic attractions for which Disney parks are known can be found on both U.S. coasts. The assumption, therefore, is that Magic Kingdom is simply a replica of Disneyland. In reality, though, the two parks are different in many ways. On this week’s show, special guest Jeff Birou (@jetsetterjeff) helps us take a closer look at these two parks and highlight the attractions, food, and landscapes that make each of them unique.

Also on this week’s show, we look ahead to the D23 Expo and discuss the panels that sound most interesting to us. Plus, we play the 20 Questions-style game “Where in WDW Am I?” Play along and join the fun now!

144: Top 5 Worst Attractions Ever

No theme park is perfect. In its 45 years of bringing us magical moments, breathtaking environments, and technological breakthroughs, even Walt Disney World has stumbled once or twice. On this week’s show we count down our picks for the top five worst attractions Disney has ever given us, from boring shows to loud cars to rides that left us wondering what the Imagineers were thinking. (And yes, biases and personal experiences play a LARGE role.)

Also on this week’s show, to get in the 4th of July spirit we introduce the hashtag #AmericanizeDisney. Plus, we highlight the career of Disney legend Dorothea Redmond in another edition of “The Windows of Main Street, U.S.A.” Come join the conversation now!

143: The Art of the Pre-Show

An entire episode about pre-shows? Wait a minute . . . I love that idea!

This week we have an open discussion about attraction pre-shows at Walt Disney World by answering the question, “What qualities do the best pre-shows possess?” We visit rides like Tower of Terror and Soarin’ and characters including Dr. Marsh and Sergeant C4703BK2704-90210, and we give our own take on what makes a pre-show great, which WDW attractions have the best and worst pre-shows, and why pre-shows are important.

Also on this week’s show: Matt and Derek review their recent lunch at Tiffins, we share our thoughts on Cars 3 and the latest Pirates film, and we play “What’s the Score?” in which we try to guess the movie based on the names of individual tracks in that movie’s original score. Come join the fun now!

133: Top 5 Film Tie-Ins at Walt Disney World

Incorporating a film into the Disney parks is an art. It requires a delicate balance in which Imagineers must give the movie justice and the treatment it deserves without making it feel forced or shoehorned into a certain space. On this week’s show, we chat about those times when the Imagineers nailed it. From entire attractions to single, fleeting moments, we count down our top five ways in which a Disney film has been brought to Walt Disney World.

Also on this week’s episode, we have some fun with the hashtag #BadDisneySequels. Plus, Derek hosts a rematch of the game “Before and After,” in which Matt and Jeremy solve brand new clues describing mashups of various Disney films, songs, and attractions. Come play along now!
