204: Voicing Disney Attractions: An Interview With Mike Brassell

If this week’s guest sounds familiar, it might be because you’ve ridden one or both of the Walt Disney World attractions he currently narrates! Joining us is voice actor Mike Brassell, who lends his voice to both the PeopleMover in the Magic Kingdom and Living With the Land in Epcot. We spoke to Mike about the events that led to these roles, what it’s like hearing his own voice when riding these attractions, and the other Disney projects he’s been part of.

Also on episode 204, we’re joined once again by Mad Chatter Matt! Our OG cohost joins us for a deep dive into the many news items coming out of The Walt Disney Company. Plus, we share our own ideas for what kind of show should replace IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, and in another Mad Chatter game, we listen to one-star Yelp reviews and then try to guess the attraction, hotel, or restaurant for which each review was given. Come play along!

Be sure to find Mike online and let him know you enjoyed hearing him on the show: https://twitter.com/mikebrassell

176: Disney Storytelling – 9 Walt Disney World Attractions and Their Fictional Backstories

Did you know Big Thunder Mountain is located in the town of Tumbleweed and sits on Native American burial ground? Or that the steam train you board before riding Expedition Everest once transported tea for the Royal Anandapur Tea Company? Disney is all about storytelling. Sometimes understanding the story is easy, but other times it requires a bit of digging. Enter our latest episode…

On show 176 we highlight nine Walt Disney World attractions and share the fictional stories you become part of whenever you ride them. Rides discussed include Kali River Rapids, the Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, and more!

Plus, we play a round of “Where in WDW Am I?” and we do some Armchair Imagineering by giving Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster a brand new overlay. Come join the fun!

149: Disney’s Skyways and Highways in the Sky

Please stand clear of the doors – The Mad Chatters Podcast will depart momentarily. On this week’s show we’re highlighting three modes of transportation that have strong ties to Disney parks: the skyway, the monorail, and the peoplemover. Not only do all three of these transportation methods offer an above-ground alternative to cars and boats, but they also were all very new to the U.S. when The Walt Disney Company brought them to the parks. On our latest show we look back at the history of these transports, how they revolutionized the Disney parks, and why they mean so much to Disney fans today.

In our latest edition of “The Windows of Main Street,” we honor the life of Disney Legend Marty Sklar, who sadly passed away last week. Plus, we share some of our favorite WDW hidden gems in the segment “It’s the Small Things, After All.” Come join the conversation! (For the comfort of others, no smoking please.)
